If China is more powerful than Taiwan and Hong Kong, then why can’t China control both countries?

Hong Kong is already officially and totally part of China since 1997.

China has told the world that they will wait until Taiwan is ready. There will be no war, no invasion, nothing.

What they have said to every nation on the planet is that Taiwan is a part of China and we will wait until Taiwan is ready to come back. But, until then, every other nation must NOT undermine China or subvert Taiwan in the meantime.

In case you haven’t noticed no one still talks about the China/Taiwan reunification except for dRump who can’t stop shooting his mouth off.

HK is a China's city, undoubtedly.

Taiwan is also a China's region. This China can be PR, China or Republic of China, but still there is only one China. The territory claimed by both Chinas is overlapped, according to their Constitutions.

Hong Kong: because it is not necessary.

Taiwan: on the one hand, China has to consider the huge negative impact of the use of force on international public opinion and the international environment, on the other hand, this is the worst approach and will not be given priority.

Nothing. It’s new national security law is literally telling the world it would repeat what it did to Tibet/XInjiang to Hong Kong. They’ll send their national security personnel to kidnap anyone in Hong Kong, both locals and foreigners. They’ll also use PLA to kill anyone, and then declare those killed are terrorists.

Because China does not have the same way of thinking as the USA.

It is between USA and China in HK &Taiwan issue. HK was never a country. It was in China for more than 2000 years long until British trading house brought the British Navy to China 100 years ago. British Navy forced the then Qing Dynasty to sign an unfair agreement allowing HK to lease to British for trade and businesses with mainland China. When the lease expired in 1997, China did not allow negotiation on the lease extension and so it was handled over peacefully to China by the British. After that China allowed autonomous status for HK in order to serve Mainland China in trade and businesses. Taiwan was the colony of Japan before 2nd world war. When Japan lost the war, Taiwan was handled over to China as part of China. In 1949, Chang KS army lost the internal war to Communist Army and Chang moved his army to Taiwan with the intention to fight back for reunification. USA was then supporting the Chang army and wanted Chang to declare independent for Taiwan but Chang knew well USA evil intention and rejected the suggestion. When USA established official relation with China, they made an announcement to the world that there was one China in the world and Taiwan was part of China. They also cut off official including military relation with Taiwan in order to recognize the real situation. But then USA has always wanted to bully China so they quietly instigated Taiwan to go against China and sold modern weapons to arm the Chang’s army.

In short, HK and Taiwan were not an independent countries. They were part of China. The present issues will be settled peacefully if USA is agreeable not to interfere.

Chinese power is actually a balloon inflated by paid media the world over, in connivance with the Chinese state controlled media. In reality, China starkly lacks the wherewithal to face even a two front scenario. Forget fighting a multi front war. The best way to speak to China is to speak from a position of Strength. History is evident, China has always bowed before strong nations and attacked weak ones.
