What does "the war of the world’s radio broadcast" mean?

On October 30, 1938, Orson Welles broadcast a condensed version of the War of the Worlds over the radio without disclosing that it was based on H.G. Wells 1898 book of the same title. The listening audience thought it was a live broadcast and panicked thinking that Earth was actually being invaded by Martians. Orson Welles tried to explain that it was all a big hoax the next day. I hope that helps.

It was the first example of how major media
could cause mass hysteria with fake news, although it was made clear that it was a dramatization. It’s of like what’s going on now with fake news!

On Halloween 1938, Orson Well’,s Mercury Theater of the Air did a broadcast of the HG Wells story, War of the Worlds. They did it as a dance music broadcast that gets interrupted by the news bulletin of an invasion from Mars. It was so realistic that many people thought it was a real broadcast. It caused quite a panic.

It was a radio show based on the book “war of the worlds” by H G Wells.

It was an American broadcast based on an Orsen Welle script about an alien invasion of the earth. There was panic in the streets as people believed the drama to be true.

It refers to the 1938 radio broadcast made by Orson Welles of “War of the Worlds”
