Visit him personally and talk to him. Don’t try to make it like an official thing. What you want is his goodwill and maintain good relations. Just be happy with verbal agreement. Once he/she agrees verbally you can then send them a NICE email quoting the understanding and assuring them of you fulfilling your end of the agreement in timely fashion.

Just remember you are looking for a big favour which the homeowners are not bound to grant !!!

If your landlord is really in need of money and if you are capable of paying the rent, kindly pay him. In case if you dont have money or the landlord not in need of money, just tell him politely your position and I hope surely he will understand your problem. In this kind of things, than rules some best soothsaying words will do the need.

By meeting your landlord at his place and requesting that your financial conditions are squeezed up due to lockdown as such you will not be able to pay rent for 2/3 months and that you will pay arrears along with future rents till arrears are paid up. If you know the date you will be paying the rent, I would send the post dated check with a nice letter and ask that they cash it in certain days.

This way, trust is gained and you have given them a notice and the payment. please follow up with writing and get their approval i'm writing.

Discuss your hardship directly in person with your landlord. If they reside elsewhere, call them up. If you don't have their number, send them a letter to advise them of your inability to pay and advise them of the reasons.

Notify? What you do is you talk to your landlord and come up with an agreement that works for both. You don’t make demands and you don’t notify.
